Our Purpose
Our major purpose at Honey Tree Preschool is to help each child value him or herself as a unique individual created by God, while developing a joyful curiosity about the world. Our program is designed to provide experiences that involve the total child: intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially and within the framework of a Christian setting. Honey Tree Preschool fills a child's need for:
- Friends his/her own age.
- Safe and secure separation from home
- Enriched and challenging environment.
- Hands-on learning activities
- Space, time, and freedom to develop his/her whole self.
- Growing Independence and self-esteem
Curriculum
The early childhood years are important ones for developing a joy of learning. At Honey Tree Early Childhood Center we provide a variety of play based materials and developmentally appropriate activities for the development of the whole child. Children learn best through unhurried, hands-on exploration and experiences in a safe and caring environment. Within correlated curriculum themes that includes both indoor and outdoor play as well as circle time we encourage children to explore and experience:
- Art
- Blocks
- Children's Literature
- Music & Movement
- Dramatic Play
- Science/Sensory
- Reading & Math Readiness
- Puzzles, Games & Manipulatives
- Motor Development
Approach to Learning
Our goal is to help children learn and succeed. Each child is unique and learns in their own way. We support the individual ways children learn with activities that nurture their curiosity, support and increase their abilities and help them find creative solutions to problems.
