I. Honey Buzz - May 2018

MAY CURRICULUM THEMES

During May our themes will focus on Moms, Mother’s Day, animal mothers & babies, and butterflies.  Our study of a variety of animals (wild, zoo, pets, ocean animals) will continue through the end of May. 


MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS 

Each class will celebrate Moms with a special Mother’s Day gathering.  Kindergarteners will put on a special play and Miss Wendy’s 2-3’s will make a special gift for their Moms. The children always look forward to this time together and giving you their special Mother’s Day gifts!  Thank you teachers, for the extra time, effort and love you put into this special event.

 

CHAPEL TIME AND CLASSROOM VISIT WITH PASTOR ERIK

Classroom visits: Wednesday, May 16 & Thursday, May 17.

Chapel Times: Wednesday, May 23, at 11:30 & 12:30, Thursday, May 24, at 11:30

This will be the last Chapel time for our school year.

 

3-4 YEAR OLD PROGRESS REPORTS

Parents of 3’s turning 4 received your child’s observation last week. If you have any questions or would like to meet with your child’s teacher please contact them to set up a meeting time. They can also do a phone conference if it works better for you.

 

MEMORIAL HOLIDAY

School will be closed on Monday, May 28th, in observance of Memorial Day.

 

TEACHER APPRECIATION DONATIONS

Honey Tree is so blessed to have the best families ever! Thank you all for your

generous donations, the faculty was so surprised! We want to thank you all, especially Bambi Brodit, Laura Horrigan, Luella Weireter, Melissa Haas, Lindsay Brizendine, and Christina Spencer for organizing, decorating, and cleaning up. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

 

FIRST TUITION PAYMENT FOR NEXT YEAR

Your first payment (1 of 10) is due by the end of the school year. Please do not include this payment with your last payment due in May. For bookkeeping purposes we need it to be a separate check. Thank you for your understanding.                                                                     

 

PAPERWORK

Make sure you have all your paperwork in for the next school year, this includes the “Physician Report.” Your child cannot attend school without this form.

 

PARENT/2S CLASSES

Miss Wendy’s classes will be enjoying a potluck picnic in the park May 21-25.

                                                                      

KINDERGARTEN TRAIN TRIP

On Friday, May 18th, our Kindergarten class will take its annual train ride from Moorpark to Santa Barbara and will enjoy the day at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Have fun!

 

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

The last days of school for this year are Wednesday, May 30th (MWF, MWF-extended, M-F, and PM Classes) and Thursday, May 31st (T/TH and TK/Kindergarten Classes).  Families are invited to our closing singing program and ice cream social on the patio on the last day of school.

This is not a regular school day. Program begins immediately after arrival and children leave after the ice cream.
